Cancer Exercise expert in yoga was developed for health and fitness professionals seeking to attain a higher level of mastery and work with cancer clients in yoga, during and after cancer surgery and treatment and into survivorship.

Yoga is a system of principles and practices of the last 5,000 years. It is a holistic form of exercise that aims to improve physical condition, develop the spirit and restore mental balance. According to recent bibliography, it provides multiple benefits to clients with cancer.

The Yoga Specialist in clients with cancer will understand the unique physical and emotional needs of these practitioners. The expert will specialize in how to adapt and use Vinyasa Yoga safely and effectively both during diagnosis, treatment and after its completion.

The aim of each course is to:

  • improve flexibility and strength

  • help manage stress with breathing techniques

  • improve balance

  • enhance general well-being.

Participants will be able to:

  • understand the basic principles of yoga

  • understand the effect of yoga on physical and emotional level

  • take a comprehensive yoga class for clients with cancer

  • Specialists in EQF L3 exercise

Provided they have completed:

  • the first level of Yoga (100h)

  • the cancer exercise expert (60h)

  • Chapter 2: Theory of yoga – Benefits of yoga

  • Chapter 3: How yoga can work in conjunction with conventional medical treatment or rehabilitation

  • Chapter 4: Yoga positions

  • Chapter 5: Grouping of positions – characteristics

  • Chapter 6: Effects of yoga

  • Chapter 7: Yoga positions

  • Chapter 8: Basic information before the start of each course (theory)

  • Chapter 9: How to make a lesson plan

  • Chapter 10: Props in positions

  • Chapter 11: Possible symptoms of practitioners & Variations of positions depending on the symptom

  • Chapter 12: Micro-movements

  • Chapter 13: Yoga & anxiety – Breaths

  • Chapter 14: Practice “The power of immobility”
